Freedom, Excitement, Imagination.

What does a child see in life?

Not the future.

Nor the past.

Only the then and the there.

Easily occupied, hardly bored.

Never a day without adventure.

Most lose that happy child inside.

Or forget it in the past.

Some shun their past child.

And then…

There are those that embrace that child.

And take it with them throughout life.

Occasionally not-remembering, but never forgetting.

Anyone who has an inner child will forever remember the happiness of simple things.

Of flowers.

Or sunshine.

Or the breeze as it cools off a hot summer day.

I will never forget my inner child.

The day that I forget her…

Will be the day that I stop breathing.

Because of the memories that I still remember…

Playing Pokemon with my old childhood friends.

My very first video game.

Running around outside, pretending to be animals.

Or even swimming in a pool that I was afraid of…

If I lose those feelings…

I'll be empty inside.

Simply a hollow shell, moving, speaking, and acting…

Never the true me.

Because the true me…is a child.

And nothing will ever change that.
